Why Do We Love This?
Deep crimson in colour. Ripe plums, blackcurrants and pepper on the nose with characteristic Langhorne Creek eucalyptol and spice. Hints of leather with the elegance of a touch of age adds a nice complexity with subtle French oak pencil box characters.
A big generous palate of blackcurrant fruits and almost powdery tannins create a plush, velvety texture. Lingering acidity retains freshness, suggesting good ageing potential.
Serve with a massive chunk of meat, seared over the open flame and damn near raw in the middle. No salad! A grilled mushroom with thyme if you must. Decant for an hour before enjoying.
