VINEYARDS
Carlo Rossi Vineyards has successfully cultivated Moscato grapes in specially-selected California vineyards. This area’s unique climate and the new technologies available to winemakers give Carlo Rossi Moscato a style all its own.
HARVEST
A welcomed wet winter and moderate growing season lead to balanced vine growth and open canopies which were ideal for maturing the fruit. An early bud break was followed in turn by early veraison, which gave an early start to harvest. Gallo Family winemakers report that overall quality from 2016 was quite good with very vibrant flavours and aromas.
WINEMAKING
The grapes for Carlo Rossi Moscato were harvested at optimum ripeness during cool night temperatures to preserve the fresh fruit flavours. The winemaker selected particularly aromatic yeast strains and employed a moderate fermentation process, which together have enhanced the natural flavours and expressive mouthfeel of this wine. Proper storage after fermentation has preserved the natural bright flavours and balance in the wine.
