Why Do We Love This?
Coonawarra is famed for its ‘terra rossa’ - the red earth laid over limestone that is confined to a cigar- shaped strip of land just 21km long and 2km wide. The region has pure underground water reserves and a long, cool ripening season which brings out the best in Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
This wine has a beautiful deep red colour and aromas of dark berries, cedar and spice with lifted oak character. The palate has dark, spicy berry fruits and firm tannin. Serve with lamb – roasted rack in spring, butterflied on the barbecue in summer and slow cooked shanks in winter.
