Why Do We Love This?
Our 18 year old single malt scotch whisky is matured in a high proportion of American oak casks with a small portion of European oak casks to balance the liquid. The result is smooth, sublime and full of character notes of sweet, stewed fruits, sumptuous berries, dark toffee and silky honey. Less spicy, more mature, slightly darker in colour, and deeper in flavour than the 12-years-old; the house style of the distillery, beautifully presented. Long and beautifully rounded. Very gently warming. Soothing. A hint of cinnamon and roses and the slightest of medicinal notes, with marzipan returning in the aftertaste.
